Lake Baringo to Kakamega Forest September 1-3, 2024 Tour route map On Day 4 of our birding trip in Kenya, we headed to West towards Kakamega rainforest near the Uganda border. I was excited to visit the rainforest and see in reality what I had only read about in my school text books. We started by 6.45 am from Tumbili Cliff lodge after taking our customary group photos. On the way, just 15 minutes drive from Lake Baringo we stopped at the cliffs on Nakhuru-Singor road for an hour to see some exclusive birds found in the thorny scrub forest here. Moses met a local bird guide who took us to the cliffs. We could get some lovely shots of African Black-headed Oriole, Pygmy Batis, Grey-headed Bush shrike, Fork-tailed Drongo, Red-headed Weaver, Green-winged Pytilla, recorded a total of eight species.
